Metal Gooseneck Lamp

Often referred to as a Barn Lamp this style dates back to the earliest days of industrial lighting. The barn lamp originated in agriculture, giving the lamp it's name.

Today gooseneck lamps are often positioned above doors in industrial, agricultural, and residential settings.  A Gooseneck is also great to illuminate storefront signs and awnings.  All around us, Gooseneck lamps can be seen in Shopping Plazas and Coffee Shops around the world.

Our Small Lamp is a nice size for HO 1:87 scale, and also works well in S Scale 1:64th.

Our Large Lamp is sized for O 1:48 scale buildings.

We made our metal gooseneck lamp with an adjustable escutcheon mounted on the long shaft. You have ample shaft so you can choose how far out to position the light fixture from your wall.

The Lamp's shade is not fixed, it can be adjusted to the angle that gives you the best lighting on your subject.  Point the shade straight down or angle it back to light up the building's side or store's sign.  When you are finished, secure the shade in place with a little glue.

Add some goose neck lamps to your model today!

  • For 3 volt use you are all ready to go, just add to your 3 volt battery or power supply.
  • For 7-19 volt AC/DC/DCC we have a bridge rectifier/resistor harness you can attach to the light before you connect it to power. The harness comes separate as shown in the photo above. This is so you can install the lamp from the front of the building, and attach the circuitry behind the wall after the lamp is in place.

"What do I need to run these?"

A customer has informed us he used a #65 drill bit for the hole to accommodate the shaft.  We hope this is helpful!

Really nice prototypical lights for a period correct look

Really nice prototypical lights for a period correct look. Have purchased 8 so far and continue to find new places for them on the layout.

Goose neck light

I just added two of the small lights over some 1/87 scale gas pumps,
They are a little fragile and wire is small, but the end result is well worth the effort. I put mine on a separate toggle switch I also got from Evans. These lights, like all the lights I have gotten, have worked out very well and are pretty easy to use with a little common sense. This was my second project with lights and first project with 1/87 scale
