Nantucket Light Ship with Evan Design's LED lighting
1:95 Nantucket Light Ship with Evan Design's LED lighting. This was my first attempt with using LED lighting to illuminate a model. I used a combination of Pico, Nano, 1.8mm solid lights and two 3mm slow flashing lights. Everything is running off a two AA battery pack which is attached to the rear of the base. I wish to thank everyone at Evan Design for all of your amazing products and for the wonderful customer service that you provide to your customers. My wife is now using your system to illuminate her 1:12 scale Medieval Castle. Here's to my next project with your lights!

Ship model with LEDs
Hello Shelly I do thank you very much for your input. I am using one of your power transformers that came with the mail plug and also the female receptacle that has been installed in the ship for many months now. It is very possible that the that I damaged the receiver sensor when I initially wired up the LEDs, this I do not know. After digging out my original remote control and loading the battery the Led's did work ok. This AM I tried it again and the second remote that I have been using all along still would not work from any distance at all. I did discover though that the second remote would turn the Led's on or off from 15' or more but it seems that the placement of the sensor is a bit of my problem. To replace the receiver sensor would be a big job as I would have to tear a hole in the side of my ship to be able to access the wiring, this I do not want to do unless the sensor fails altogether, and I do have a spare that came with my second remote so that is not a problem. For the time being, I believe that I will live with this and may try to place the sensor in a better position that would be difficult for sure but doable. Still can not figure out why the second remote failed altogether when it worked so well a couple of months ago. I am attaching a couple of pictures that I took this AM with the Led's lit, both pictures were taken a few minutes apart, the darker on with the camera set to A and the lighter with a time exposure, the Led'd sure do enhance the ship and also make a nice night light. ENJOY.

NAUTILUS REPRODUCTIONS
Platform supply vessel
Hello everyone at Evan Designs. I wanted to send you a pic of what I had used your leds on. I used some 50+ leds for all the lighting on this ship and was very pleased with the end results. I used everything from the 5mm to the chip leds. I used the 5mm for the main spot light 12v, chip lights for the flood light12v, 1.8mm for running lights, marker lights, and superstructure (cabin) 6v. Was really amazed at how brite these lights are for such low consumption, they can even be seen during daylight hours.
It was a vessel that ran over in europe for some time, mostly as a supply vessel carring tractor trailers. The model itself is remote control. It has independent switchs for the lights. You can run the running lights, spot light, and flood lights seperately.
It has also working twin radar beams on the forward mast as well as a working bow thruster. The model was done in 1/100 scale, most of which was scratch built. In the water she handles just like the real ship, quite surprised by how well it handles. Since using your leds on this ship there has been alot of talk on using them. Alot of advantages compared to the regular grain bulbs. I have started my next build already and will be ordering alot more from you. Thank you for such a great product!!!!

Titanic before the crash
I have attached a couple of pictures. I took all 11 LEDs, wired them to the
yoke/switch and tested - perfect. I made a light bar of heavy stock paper and
aluminum foil. I inserted the LEDs on center every 2 inches.
Then I drilled out the Hull bottom and shaped a rectangular hole
the dimensions of the yoke. (the hole is centered over the forward base column
which I also drilled out). I fed the transformer wire up
through the hull and out the forecastle deck opening,
plugged into the yoke and then retracted the whole assembly
back through the forecastle deck opening pulling the yoke out through
the hole in the hull. I glued the yoke in place so it is flush with
the hull bottom. I let the glue dry, waited for darkness and plugged
in the transformer. The results were just what I had hoped for.
Now I can install the forecasltle deck, formast and final rigging
and RMS Titanic with be finished.
I am really glad I found your website.
Thanks to all at Evan Designs.
