We print all of our paper model designs with an ordinary $70 Inkjet Printer. Epson Photo printers are nice for printing finer details, but definitely not required. And we recommend Matte Photo Paper for the best image quality.

I’ve been using Model Builder software for almost 15 years and really like it. I bought it mainly for N scale but later went into HO and O scale and used it extensively for those scales. It’s a great piece of software for creating great looking buildings that can be enhanced with further details. Highly recommend it for model railroad and diorama enthusiast. I bought a new computer win11 so I thought I would purchase the version for win11. My old version was for Vista 7. Thanks for a great piece of software for quick and easy card stock buildings and nice selection of LEDs for light effects. Highly recommend.

It would be very helpful if your proprietary texture files could be color adjusted or given a common format (i.e. JPEG) so the colors could be matched using PhotoShop etc.

Very easy to use and understand. I can go from an idea to a completed structure in very little time. Nice way of adding texture and detail to otherwise plain or outdated kits as well. Highly recommend this software!

I really enjoy using Model Builder. It is versatile and provides accurate detailed printouts. A must have.

The designs included don’t easily up-scale to 1/24 but I have been able to manipulate them satisfactorily. Not the most intuitive software but the HELP and instructions pretty well show what can be done. I’ve begun a second structure and think it will be another ok addition to the G Scale layout.
Hi Stan thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! Yes, for 1:24 scale, it is hard to fit much on an 8.5 x 11 inch page you can fit into your printer. You could select a larger page size and bring the completed file as a PDF to an office store to print larger sizes. Did you know we have video tutorials here? You have may find them helpful. Saw this in narrow gauge and short lines. I like card board modelling so bought a copy. Download / payment all straight forward. I've only had a brief look at it so far though. Seems relatively straight forward to use and there are building tutorials included which is good. The interface is a little clunky in places but for a home grown piece of software its pretty good.
If you enjoy building in card (I think there is an awful lot you can do with this) I would recommend.

No matter the scale, this software will help you create structures at a fraction of the price verses other options.
There is a learning curve to the software and you have to think 3D, but once you have that process in mind, you're set.

Model Builder is a great product for making model railroad and other mock-ups or finished buildings! It's easy to use and the support provided by Evans Designs is great! Every model railroader should have this in their e-toolbox.
Every time I use it, I find new ways to create more realistic structures.
