A 3mm red and warm white LED. Both in the same bulb. These are already set up with a resistor to work on your DC Model Train Power Supply 7-19 volt DC only.

These bidirectional bipolar LEDs will be red in reverse and warm white in forward. Choose this 2-lead bi-directional LED when you need your DC train or trolley to have red lights in reverse. Also great for other railroad track side effects.

Evan Designs bicolor LEDs are awesome!

We purchased our Christmas Trolley and found the lights to be unsatisfactory. A little research and we found Evan Designs bicolor LEDs, ordered them, received them quickly and installed. Such a difference maker! Attention to detail using these will really make your model stand out. We will be getting more Evan Designs products!

LED sets for HO scale locos and passenger cars.

I’ve been puzzled by the new DCC technology and adding prototypical lighting to my collection of HO scale locos and passenger cars. I had purchased a few packs of the Evans LEDs from the hobby shop, but still was not sure of what I had. So after installing a few in RPO and baggage cars I decided to call Evans. I learned a lot more talking to the lady. I purchased several several more different combination and single lights. I had a Walthers ATSF 8-2-2 Pullman sleeping car and had put people in the seats in each compartment. So knowing from experience that the lighting can vary in each separate compartment I purchased the 12 LED string with one bridge rectifier and resistor which fit across the top of the men’s lounge with the double wire with LEDs wound back and forth placing one LED in each compartment or bedroom. The warm white LEDs were a bit bright. So I used Evans idea of using paint to to darken them at different intensity with acrylic primer grey. It looks great! Only two solder joints were required with the 12 LED string. I used HO rail joiners to solder to the 2 wires, then slid the joiners onto the Walthers spring steel electric contacts that refuse to take solder. With the good tight fit on the electric tabs, the Evans light kit does not flicker like the Walthers factory installed lights in the identical passenger cars. I’ve got some other loco and car projects lined up to install Evans LEDs. Thank you, Steve Rippeteau, retired ATSF conductor.
