The Signal Box _______________ The box itself is a standard box construction. Cut this out and assemble first. The staircase assembly (sounds more complicated than it actually is). Creasing The staircase needs to creased vertically either side of the steps up to the green bars halfway up the door at the top. Crease vertivally down the centre of each green bar either side of the steps; The green bars will become handrails. Horizontal creases are across the centre of each of the green bars, either side of the door, but NOT the door itself.Crease across the base of the door, and at the foot of the steps. Cutting Make vertical cuts either side of the door, down to halfway through the green horizontal bars, and horizontal cuts in to either side of the base of the door, Do NOt cut across the base of the door. Then cut out the entire stairs shape in oe piece. Folding Fold the outer parts from the vertical green bars backwards, and glue eack folded side back on the rear of the inner parts. When the glue has dried, fold the two sides either side of the steps forward to form the bannisters and hand rails. Fold the two top halves either side of the door back and down. These two will form the upper bannisters and hand rails.DO NOT GLUE these tabs down yet. Fold the Door at the top of the steps forward and then glue the door exactly over the door at the right hand upper side at the end of the signal box. Fold the tab at the bottom of the steps forward. This piece will be glued to the 'ground' as a paving base for the steps. The upper bannisters, either side of the door are now folded forward and will be stuck down eiher side of the bannisters thatn rise either side of the steps. The upper bannisters 'nip' the top of the rising bannisters and steady thhe staircase. The upper bannisters will need trimming before gluing, to give the best fit.
